as a personal challenge, i will be posting a tidbit about our life each week throughout the year of 2010.
so, one thing i did this past fall was have my friend michelle scan all of my families old photographs. among these pictures were some love letters that my father had kept. they were written between his parents (my grandparents) during world war two. michelle scanned all of them…all 1,133 pages!
i cannot express enough how precious these letters are to my family!!!
they tell a story of the love between my grandparents in a way that we would have never heard from their mouths…one time, while reading the letters, my dad exclaimed ‘ i don’t even know who these people are! they never talked like that in front of me!!!’
my grandmother died young…when my father was only 11 years old…the same age abby is now. i never got to meet her, so any pictures, stories and snippets of her life are always fun to hear and see.
