in keeping with my previous post about how precious our children are, i have decided to start posting a little more of our personal life on the blog.
when our girls turn 10 years old, they get to go on a trip by themselves with mom. in a family with four girls, its not very often you get one-on-one time with your parents :)
this past fall, jocelyne chose to go to her grandparents house in utah. we had a glorious ten days to explore all of my old stomping grounds. sometimes i can’t believe i actually spent my teenage years in a place so beautiful…
this is the view from my parents back porch…

while hiking the trail behind my parents house i fell in love with some beautiful aspens…i miss seeing aspen trees…

jocelyne found a little hideout on our walk…

while hiking, she gathered rocks and wood…when we got back to my parents, she started painting and these were the final results…

we also visited the most adorable antique shop…we had oodles of fun pouring over all of the treasures…

of course, we had to make a trip to salt lake city…we met up with our sweet friend dayla :)

jocelyne grabbed the camera and took this shot of the salt lake temple…it is getting printed and framed to hang up in her room…

we also went to the genealogical library where we were able to see original documents and photographs of one of my ancestors, milo andrus. he was instrumental in settling the salt lake valley back in the 1800′s.

we then traveled a few miles up the mountain to one of the original houses owned by milo andrus…

jocelyne hiking one of the campgrounds we use to spend the night at…

tibble fork lake in the american fork canyon…i used to drive up this canyon nearly every day after school…
